‘The child’s work is to create the person he or she will become. ᅠAdults work to perfect the environment but children work and play to perfect themselves.’ – A Montessori principle
We encourage our children to flourish and naturally inspire them to love learning. We believe that learning is a journey, not a race. Play is the serious work of early childhood. Learning takes place with hands, heart and head. By protecting the right to childhood we are creating abilities for life.
Child-Led Activity
Each day includes a period of open-access play, offering a variety of engaging activities both indoors and outdoors. Alongside this, children may take part in focused experiences such as baking, painting, or creative handicrafts, designed to extend their interests and support their development.
Montessori Principles
We are striving to create a calm, ordered environment that allows us to respect the Montessori principles. If a child is absorbed in an activity, then it is important that they are left to complete it at their own space, so that they learn the pleasure of achieving something themselves to their own satisfaction.
Outdoor Activities
Children benefit from our own protected and secure natural outdoor area, designed for safe exploration and imaginative play. In addition, we take regular trips to local parks, providing opportunities to experience the natural world, discover wildlife, and engage in outdoor learning that nurtures curiosity, confidence, and wellbeing.
Meal Times
At mealtimes, children come together around the table in a relaxed and social setting, enjoying the opportunity to chat, share, and build social skills. The food served is thoughtfully prepared, nutritionally balanced, and made with mostly organic ingredients to support healthy growth and wellbeing.
Support Weaning
During weaning, your little one will gradually explore new textures, starting with smooth puréed foods, mashed options, and eventually enjoying soft, bite-sized pieces. This gentle progression helps babies develop chewing and swallowing skills while discovering a variety of flavours, making mealtimes both safe and enjoyable.
Safe Mealtimes with Our Colour-Coded Bowls
We use a colour-coded bowl system to identify children’s allergies and dietary needs. This helps our team serve the right meals safely while keeping every little one happy and healthy.
Green – (No Reason) – No known allergies or special dietary requirements.
Red – (Allergy) – A confirmed diagnosis by a GP, and the child has medication and symptoms.
Yellow – (Intolerance and dietary preference) – No medication is required. This category also includes Vegetarian, Vegan, and religious preferences.
