My name is Cheryl, and I am the Nursery Manager at Cardiff Bay Green Giraffe.I first joined the company in 2014 as an apprentice when our Cathedral Road setting opened. Since then, I have worked across all of our settings in a variety of roles, gaining valuable experience and developing my passion for early years education.I currently hold a Level 4 qualification in Preparing for Management in Children’s Care, Play, Learning and Development, and I am also completing a Montessori in Practice qualification.I am incredibly proud of the team around me and enjoy supporting and working alongside our staff to ensure every child has the very best day. We were recently awarded a Top 20 Day Nurseries Award, which is a testament to the dedication and care of our team.My favorite part of the role is spending time in the rooms with the children and welcoming new families to our setting. Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors with my family. I have two very busy boys and an equally energetic puppy, so you’ll usually find us exploring the beach or visiting a country park.

I have worked in childcare for the past 8 years after beginning my journey as an apprentice, and I am Level 3 qualified in both England and Wales. I recently moved from England to Cardiff to broaden my experience and knowledge of childcare practice across the UK, and I love continuing to learn and grow within the profession.

I’m passionate about supporting children’s individual needs and love being hands-on, spending time with the children, and helping them learn, grow, and feel confident every day. I enjoy working alongside positive, motivating people and creating a warm, caring environment where every child feels safe, happy, and valued.

Outside of work, I enjoy sea swims, hiking holidays, visiting my new puppy in West Wales, and learning Welsh.

Hello I am Sarah, I have been working here at the Green Giraffe Nursery Cardiff Bay for 3 and a half years! I am a level 5 CCLD qualified employee with over 8 years’ experience in the childcare sector, I have a passion for working with children and love watching them thrive and grow, I’ve had experience working with a variety of age ranges from 6 months to 16 years! On the weekends I love to spend time with my two beautiful children where we go on lots of outdoor adventures like going on forest walks and visiting lots of Wales’ beautiful hotspots, it’s my favourite part being a mum and getting to help other children become the best that they can be!

I’m Joshua and I’m room manager in the Appletree playroom, where every day presents new opportunities and possibilities.

After completing my level 3 in sport in college, I threw myself into early years education, earning my bachelor’s in the subject in the summer of 2025.

Education was always an area that interested me and after welcoming my son, Oliver on Halloween in 2023, the last few years have provided me with an incredibly strong sense of belonging and purpose and a belief that I made a great choice in exploring this ever changing world of learning and education.

I love my job and I love the work-life balance I have been able to find over recent months.

The responsibility of the role and environment has made me become a much better practitioner than I was when I started and the Children I see everyday have become such a huge part of my life, which is Something I am incredibly thankful for.

Hi, I’m ellie and I am proud to have recently completed my Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education. I am excited to be continuing my professional development by starting my Level 4 qualification soon.

I am currently the Room Leader in Pumpkin Patch and have worked with Green Giraffe for the past 2 years. I am passionate about creating a warm, welcoming environment where every child feels safe, valued, and at home. Building strong relationships with children and their families is one of the things I enjoy most about my role, and I love working closely with parents to support each child’s development and learning journey.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my dog, Lexi, and taking her on adventures. I also love horse riding, exploring new places, and discovering cosy coffee shops at the weekends. These hobbies help me stay active, creative, and bring lots of enthusiasm into my work with the children.

I look forward to continuing to support and inspire the children in my care as they learn, grow, and thrive.

I have been working in childcare for the past five years and I am currently Level 2 qualified, while working towards completing my Level 3 qualification here at Green Giraffe. I am passionate about supporting children as they grow, develop, and become their own unique individuals. I enjoy creating a positive, caring, and nurturing environment where children feel happy, confident, and are encouraged to learn through play and exploration.In my spare time, I enjoy spending time outdoors and going on trips, which inspires my creativity and enthusiasm when planning fun and engaging activities for children. I joined the green giraffe team almost 4 years ago, after completing my degree in primary education. Alongside this, I hold a Level 3 qualification in children’s care, play, learning and development.I love supporting the little ones in plums as they grow in independence, confidence and really begin to find themselves.When I’m not in work I enjoy being outdoors, reading and spending time with family and friends.  I’m also expecting my first baby, exciting!

I’m Eliza and I have been working at the Green Giraffe Cardiff Bay in the baby room for the past 2 years. I am currently working towards my level 3 qualification after completing my level 2. I love working in the baby room as I get to form lovely bonds with the babies and getting to witness milestones such as starting to walk and learning to talk! In my spare time I love to go on holidays and experience different cultures.

I’m Thilini and I’m working in a lunch cover role at the Cardiff Bay setting. I’ve been working here for almost a year and I really enjoy my job. Being a lunch cover,  gives an opportunity to work with all the age groups and give different experiences every day.

Hi, I’m Laura and I’ve been working at Green Giraffe Nursery for three and a half years. I have my Level 3 qualification and work in the Plumtree Room which I enjoy as I love all the wonderful conversations I can have with the children. In my spare time I enjoy going to gigs, gaming, reading and spending time with my children.

I am a Level 2 qualified childcare practitioner currently working for the Green Giraffe nursery, where I have been for the past two and a half years. I thoroughly enjoy my role and have built strong relationships with both the children and their families. It is rewarding to watch the children grow and develop as they move through the different rooms within the nursery. I am passionate about supporting their learning and development and take pride in creating positive experiences for them. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, as well as going out for meals and shopping in my spare time.

I am passionate about supporting children as they grow, develop, and achieve their milestones, and I love helping them build confidence through learning and play. I enjoy creating a safe, caring, and creative environment where children feel happy, supported, and encouraged to thrive. In my spare time, I enjoy keeping active through hiking, playing padel, and spending quality time with my loved ones.

I’ve been working at The Green Giraffe for 2 years after starting on placement and loving it and I am now doing my level 3! Outside of work, I enjoy going on walks and shopping.

Hello, my name is Ariana and I have been working in the Green giraffe nursery for around 2 years. I have completed my level 2 qualification and I am now doing my level 3 qualification. I work in the plum tree room in Cardiff Bay as a nursery practitioner. My favourite part of the job is helping all the children learn and watching them grow. In my spare time I like to go on walks around the beach and I love traveling.

Hi I’m Shan I work in the strawberry field room. I have worked in the green giraffe for a year now. I have recently become an apprentice and working towards my level 2 in childcare. I have 2 children and outside of working and doing my level two I love to encourage and watch my children do what they love with their extra curriculum activities. I will often be found at football matches and kickboxing events with my son or dance events and competitions with my daughter. I love encouraging and watching them grow and develop new skills in what they love doing.
